GOD’S WORK. OUR HANDS.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink” (Matthew 25:35). As the government shutdown affects SNAP (food assistance) benefits for many families, our neighbors need our help. How can our church community respond with compassion?

On November 2nd, Saint Peter collaborated with Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry. We spent the morning in worship, packing blessing bags, shopping for groceries, sorting and loading food to support folks who may be facing critical gaps in assistance.

Are you interested in providing needed relief for neighbors dealing with food insecurity? You can learn more about Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry here.

SHARE ADVENT TRADITIONS!

This year, we’re creating a special Saint Peter Advent devotional! Send your favorite Advent traditions, recipes, stories, and prayers to Arielle (awilson@stplc.org). We will combine your contributions into an Advent publication to help us get ready for the season!

THE TOY DRIVE IS HERE!

Saint Peter hosts the Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry Toy Drive each year. Last year we had 175 families who shopped for their children for a total of 375 kids. Each child received a toy from our toy drive! We are expecting at least that same number this year. Now is your chance to bring holiday cheer to the families who visit Covenant Cupboard. To purchase a new gift for a child or for multiple children, sign up and find all the details here.

  • Toys should be valued between $25 and $40.

  • Leave your gifts unwrapped and label each toy with the gender and age of the child.

  • We are also collecting heavy gloves/mittens for the children.

  • Drop unwrapped gifts at Saint Peter Lutheran Church on the following dates: November 30 (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.) and December 1 (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.).

If you do not have a current photo, Sara Lancaster will take photos in the Narthex after worship during the month of November. Feel free to just show up or call/ text 720-280-2670 to arrange!

IT’S STEWARDSHIP SEASON!

It is time again to look at what God has accomplished through this community of faith and prayerfully ponder where we are being called to serve in the days ahead.

The focus this fall is on growth — growth in your faith, growth in our community, and growth in how each of us reaches out to the world. It’s time to get our hands dirty by giving special attention to where we have already invested our time, energy, and funds, and making a concerted effort to cultivate those seeds.

This November, you’ll learn about the vision for 2026 and how you can make a difference. We will also update you on 2025 ministry work so far and share a few “outside the offering plate” ideas for your 2026 commitment if you choose. This week, learn more about qualified charitable distributions. Thank you for your continued generosity!

Please join the StPLC Stewardship Team and Council for this November’s Stewardship appeal, so we can all Grow Together. THANK YOU for your commitment to God’s call!

SAVE YOUR POP TOPS

The Ronald McDonald House serves as a "home away from home" for many folks with hospitalized children. The Pop Tab Recycling Program is an easy way to support this valuable resource. Simply pull off your beverage can tabs or soup tops (anything with a pull tab!) and bring them to church! We will collect them in a large jar in the narthex for delivery and recycling.

HELP SPREAD THE WORD WITH AN StPLC GOOGLE REVIEW!

If you haven’t already left a review online, please take a couple of minutes this week to share with the online world what you think is special about our South Denver church. It’s free to do and will only take you a couple of minutes. You can find instructions from Google here. You can find the Saint Peter listing here.
