PROPERTY WORK DAY THIS SATURDAY

Next property work day is next Saturday, May 20. Come by the church between 9:00 a.m. and noon to spiff up the landscape. Bring your gloves and favorite lawn tools to help spread mulch, trim and more.

A group photo from the last property work day. Hopefully the rain will hold off for us to get to work outside, but if not, there’s plenty to do inside, too.

THIS SUNDAY, MAY 21, CONFIRMATION & CHOIR SUNDAY

You don’t want to miss worship on Sunday, May 21, because it will be Confirmation Sunday! Plus, members of the Castle Rock Chorale will join the Saint Peter Jubilate Choir.

A CHALLENGE FOR YOU FROM PASTOR MIKE

Over the past month with Palm Sunday and Easter Celebrations as well as farewell and welcome events for Pastor Michael and myself, you’ve likely noticed how nice it feels to have a full sanctuary. But with the summer months ahead and Pastor’s newness surely wearing off, he implores you to keep up the good energy. Between now and September 10, hold time in your prayers for this effort. If the Spirit moves inside you, invite a friend or acquaintance to worship with you. Call up that former member and invite them back.

Our goal: 125 worshipers by Sunday, September 10. We can do it! Together!

HELP SPREAD THE WORD WITH AN StPLC A GOOGLE REVIEW!

Pastor Mike is right. The best way to attract visitors to Saint Peter is through personal invitations. And the second-best way is with a Google Review!

If you haven’t already left a review online, please take a couple of minutes this week to share with the online world what you think is special about our south Denver church. It’s free to do and will only take you a couple of minutes. You can find instructions from Google here. You can find the Saint Peter listing here.

Faith Day At The Rockies AUGUST 20

Come join in the fun and fellowship with others from various churches around Colorado! We will participate in conjunction with our friends from Covenant Church DTC. Contact Laura Guthals for more information or go to: https://www.mlb.com/rockies/tickets/specials/themes/faith-day. Look for a sign-up sheet in the Narthex in the coming weeks.

The game against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, August 20, starts at 1:10 pm. Concert by Hillsong UNITED following the game. One ticket for $20 covers both.

A NOTE FROM THE STPLC COUNCIL

The Transition Committee and the Call Committee met with the Council and Pastor Mike to share reflections of what we learned about ourselves and StPLC during the transition process. Many team members commented about how valuable the Coffee and Conversation gatherings were to building and strengthening our relationship with each other and with God.

The team members recommend that Council host similar Coffee and Conversation each calendar quarter. We also reflected on how important the commitment, communication and prayerful discernment of the Call Team was that led the congregation to Pastor Mike Vinson. Please join the Council in thanking the Transition and Call Team members for their time and prayerful service in 2022 and 2023.

We are grateful for the prayers of encouragement and supplication of the entire congregation which helped the Holy Spirit connect the Call Team with Pastor Mike and helped the Holy Spirit lead Pastor Mike to StPLC. Keep praying! Now that we have completed the transition process, please continue to pray for StPLC and for Pastor Mike Vinson as we begin our journey together. The below prayer was written in collaboration with the StPLC Council members.

Loving God,

Wrap your arms around Pastor Mike and the Saint Peter Congregation so that we might discern your will and share your Good News with our community inside and outside our building. Help us to work together for peace, understanding, forgiveness and hope. Please give Pastor Mike your strength and wisdom to help us all grow deeper in faith and our walk with you, Lord. We pray that Pastor Mike will find friendships and fulfillment and that he will feel the love and the joy of being part of StPLC.

Amen.
