SHOUT HOSANNA! IT’S HOLY WEEK!

As we direct our eyes toward the cross of Jesus, the Passion journey continues with 7:30 p.m. services for Maundy Thursday (3/28), Good Friday (3/29) and the Saturday evening vigil (3/30). Then join in jubilation on Easter Sunday morning at the 9 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. service (or both!). See Him in Jerusalem, walking where the crowds are. Once these streets had sung to Him. Now they cry for murder. … See Him walking in Jerusalem, on the road to save us. See him there upon the hill. Hear the scorn and laughter. Silent as a lamb he waits, praying to the father. See the king who made the sun and the moon and shining stars. Let the soldiers hold and nail him down, so that he could save them. See him there upon the cross, now no longer breathing. … Feel the earth is shaking now. See the veil is split in two. And he stood before the wrath of God, shielding sinners with his blood. … Lift your voices to the one who is seated on the throne. See him in the new Jerusalem. Praise the one who saved us. Lift your voices to the one who is seated on the throne (from “Jerusalem,” by Thompson, Robinson, Tranter).

PASTORAL CARE

If you want reliable and empathetic pastoral guidance or simply a listening ear, please reach out to Pastor Vera to arrange a time to talk. Stephen Ministers are also available for compassionate and confidential care.

UPDATED CHURCH HOURS

To best support the staff, the church office will be open Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

EASTER SUNDAY BUFFET

Please come to our Easter Sunday Buffet on March 31, anytime from 8:30-10:30 a.m. We’ll have juice, coffee, tea, muffins, pastries, bagels, donut holes and fruit. Come before or after 9:00 a.m. worship or after! Come before 10:45 a.m. worship! We have guests coming, so please be sure to let them know to come to the kitchen and grab a bite or sit down and relax in Fellowship Hall! Want to volunteer? Contact Ms. Mary mpratt@stplc.org.

NARCISSUS BULBS

Do you have a Narcissus Bulb in a Jar? If so, please bring it to church at any worship during Holy Week, so we can add beauty to our Easter celebration! Even if the bloom is past, bring your jar anyway! Our creative D.E.S.I.G.N. Team will find just the right spot for foliage or blooms or both!

ALLELUIA STICKS ARE BACK!

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth” (Psalm 100:1). We have a Team of Volunteers working to make sure everyone who would like to shake an ALLELUIA STICK can do so on Easter Vigil as well as Easter Sunday! If you can find the one you had 2 years ago, dust it off and bring it to church for both worship opportunities: March 30 and 31! After the 10:45 a.m. Easter service, everyone is welcome to take one home! Let’s make a joyful noise together as we celebrate the Risen Christ!

GET TO KNOW SAINT PETER

Introduce yourself! Get to know the stories and histories of the faces you see on Sunday. Send Arielle (awilson@stplc.org) pictures and a few trivia pieces, and you might be featured in an upcoming newsletter. Make connections and start conversations with your Saint Peter community!

URBAN SERVANT CORPS PALM SUNDAY PRAYER WALK

Thank you to all who serve the community in ways both big and small. After prayer, we explored the neighborhood and the many ways that USC helps folks who are facing life’s challenges. Jesus’ love truly lives in the hearts and hands of those who reach out to lift others up.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP COVENANT CUPBOARD:
Monetary donations to CCFP are always welcome. Your donations help maintain a robust pantry for folks who face food insecurity and hardship – we serve new families each week! You can write a check to Saint Peter with “Covenant Cupboard” or “CCFP” in the memo line, or make it out directly to Covenant Cupboard. The food pantry is an independent 501(C)3 nonprofit.

Support CCFP by shopping at King Soopers/City Market! Obtain a loyalty card from King Soopers/City Market and go online (www.kingsoopers.com). Set up your account, select “My Account” and “Community Rewards.” Enter DC406 to select Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry. As your designated nonprofit, CCFP will receive part of the proceeds from your purchases. Encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to join you in supporting CCFP when they shop!

We love to give books to the children who visit the food pantry! Do you have new or gently used picture books for infants and toddlers? Contact Laura Guthals or Terri Mohrhaus if you have books to donate.

CCFP serves between 150-200 families a week, many of whom are new to the pantry, or new to the country. This service is vital and life-changing. Thank you for your help!
