Habitat Partner Family Visiting This Sunday
Steven Doh Soe will be visiting this Sunday to speak to us about his experience working with Habitat for Humanity. Steven attends Light of Christ Anglican Church in Denver and is preparing to move into a Habitat home at Sheridan Square.
Steven is a Burmese refugee. Burma is now called Myanmar and shares the western border with Thailand and Laos in southeast Asia. According to the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service as of October 2017, they are "deeply concerned about the continued displacement of Rohingya communities fleeing ethnic and religious persecution in Myanmar." To learn more visit the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
Faith Forum: Christian Elevator Speech
Come join the final conversation about developing your own personal Christian elevator speech this Sunday morning from 9:40 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the Narthex. Next week, we will begin a new series on incorporating spiritual practices into our lives during Advent.
Loving God; Loving Neighbor Stewardship Drive
Plan to worship with us next Sunday, November 18th, as we make our personal commitments to support the ministry of Saint Peter Lutheran Church in 2019 — an expression of our shared commitment to love both God and neighbor. Also, be on the lookout for information coming to you in the mail.
2 MOPS Meetings Left This Year
The Saint Peter Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group will only be meeting on the second Saturdays of the month in both November and December to accommodate holiday schedules. The normal meeting schedule (2nd and 4th Saturdays at 9:00 a.m.) will resume in January. If you are a mom to young kids, you are invited!
Saint Peter Indoor Movie Night November 30th
Everyone is invited to a screening of the “The Star: The Story of the First Christmas” in the Fellowship Hall on Friday, November 30th. Join us for a pizza dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the movie at 7:00 p.m. Youth and Family Ministries is hosting the event and asking that everyone bring a toy to donate to Covenant Cupboard as well. Bring a friend!
Covenant Cupboard Toy Donations
The Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry is collecting toys for the annual Christmas toy drive. Please consider donating a toy or two. Items such as puzzles, new or gently used stuffed animals, balls, Legos, and arts and crafts kits make for great gifts! There is a large box in the Narthex for all donations. Last day to give is December 2nd.
The Delores Project Dinner on December 2nd
The Church Chicks will be serving dinner to the women who stay at The Delores Project on Sunday, December 2nd. We will meet at Saint Peter to prepare the meal in the afternoon and then travel to The Delores Project (location is not made public to protect the women at the shelter) to serve dinner and visit with the women.
The Delores Project provides safe, comfortable shelter and personalized services for unaccompanied women and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness. They also work to end homelessness by advocating for housing solutions.
If you are interested in helping to prepare the meal, to serve the meal, or both, please contact Annie Heath.
