Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry
Covenant Cupboard and Saint Peter Lutheran Church
Eighteen members of Saint Peter Lutheran Church volunteer at Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry. Two of our members, Walt Meyer and Chuck Wood, are currently serving on the Board of Directors. On a normal Friday, 8-10 members of Saint Peter would be working at the food pantry, preparing food boxes, distributing food and registering new clients. On average, 40 volunteers are present every Friday to operate Covenant Cupboard and help meet the food security needs of families in Arapahoe, Denver, Adams, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. At Saint Peter, we strongly support the mission of Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry and we invite those who are interested in volunteering to click on the website link http://www.covcupboard.org or talk to Walt Meyer.
Mission
The mission of Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry is to address the food security needs of seniors, disabled individuals, and the unemployed or underemployed households in our community in a compassionate, dignified and secure environment.
Covenant Cupboard Food Pantry is open to clients every Friday 1 - 4 p.m. except the Friday following Thanksgiving. We are also closed on major holidays that fall on Friday. In case of a possible snow closure, watch Denver channels 4, 9, or 20 for information.
